Join us online on Monday, January 12, 2026, for our Family Empowerment Series training "Transitions: Early Intervention to Pre-K."
In this session, we will learn about the process of transitioning from early intervention (birth to age 5) to Pre-Kindergarten! We understand the significance of a child's early steps in special education, and this training session will support families and community members to confidently navigate those important stages!
We will cover important topics such as
- Terms to know,
- Transition Timeline (when can you expect to begin the transition and what happens during),
- Frequently asked questions, and
- Additional Supports and services to assist you and your student throughout the process!
Want to study up early? Check out our office's YouTube page featuring a series of six dynamic videos on Special Education in DC! All videos are available in English and Spanish with open captioning. Visit our page on YouTube: youtube.com/@DCSpecialEducationHub/playlists for all 12 videos!
Attending our Family Empowerment Series is a great opportunity for caregivers to receive information and ask questions about how best to support their students with disabilities. Don't let this fantastic opportunity pass you by! We can't wait to see you there!
