Join us online on Monday, May 4, 2026, for our Family Empowerment Series training "Special Education Settings, Placement, and Finding the Right Fit."

In this session, we'll help you understand how to navigate the special education settings offered in DC public and public charter schools.

We will cover important topics such as

  • Different placement options for students with disabilities,
  • The Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) policy,
  • The Continuum of Services, and
  • How to effectively collaborate with schools to find the right fit for your child's unique needs.

Want to study early? Check out our office's YouTube page, which features a series of six dynamic videos on Special Education in DC, including one on the Least Restrictive Environment! All videos are available in English and Spanish with open captioning. Visit our page on YouTube: youtube.com/@DCSpecialEducationHub/playlists for all 12 videos!

Attending our Family Empowerment Series is a great opportunity for caregivers to receive information and ask questions about how best to support their students with disabilities. Don't let this fantastic opportunity pass you by! We can't wait to see you there!
